Slides Behavior Controls Anchor Settings

  1. Specify an Anchor name and a Tooltip that will be displayed when hovered over the slide icons.
  2. Reorder and/or delete navigation items using the controls next to each item.  Click the green + icon at the bottom of the list to add a new item.

Based on how many slides with anchor information are entered, the dialog will use this to generate the respective slides in the component.  From there you can add components within the parsys of each carousel slide (reachable by switching what slide you’re viewing with the slide dropdown):

  1. Randomize starting slide: Select the checkbox to enable randomization.
  2. Autoplay: Select the checkbox to enable autoplay.
  3. Time on Slide: Specify the number of seconds each slide will appear before going to the next slide. Choose from: 8, 10, 12, 14 (default), 16 seconds spent on each slide.
  4. Pause/Play button tooltips: If no text is specified, the buttons will read “Turn off autoplay” and “Turn on autoplay”.

Set the previous/next buttons and the slide’s bottom control settings.  By default the fieldsets will be collapsed.  Click the arrows to expand.

  1. Previous & next control - Contrast: These settings control the color of the previous and next buttons.  A light background versus a light colored background differ in that a light background is used for solid colors and a light colored background is used for gradients.  By selecting light colored background, the text becomes slightly transparent and allows for some of the background color to be visible through the text.
  2. Next/Previous button tooltip: Set the text for the tooltip that appears on the next (right) button and the previous (left) button.  Defaults are “Go to next slide” and “Go to previous slide” respectively.
  3. Bottom control -  Contrast: These settings control the color of the slide indicator at the bottom of the carousel.  A light background versus a light colored background differ in that a light background is used for solid colors and a light colored background is used for gradients.  By selecting light colored background, the text becomes slightly transparent and allows for some of the background color to be visible through the text.
  4. Bottom control - Solid Color: Select the solid color to use in the background for the bottom control underneath the slides.
  5. Bottom control - Gradient: Select from gradient options for the bottom control and a swatch will appear in the preview pane.
  1. Anchor Name: The field where you can assign a unique anchor name to this banner component so it can be linked to from within the page if necessary.

Do's & Don'ts

Carousel Frame works and looks best when all slides are the same or similar height. It can be a frustrating and jarring experience for the user if slides are wildly different heights.
