Illustration & infographics

Our baseline illustration style is simple, clean, flat(ish) and iconic. We use subtle gradients to help images pop. Here are some examples of simple illustrations.

We also use a more elaborate style that builds off our baseline iconic illustrations. Here are some examples.

Our infographics are similarly clean, simple, and clear. We focus on storytelling, clear hierarchy in typography, and the flow of information.

Icons

As the majority of our icons are used at two specific sizes online (24px and 36px), they are designed and optimized according to their respective grids. Our icons are optically balanced in size and visual style. Here is a breakdown of basic values and sizes:

  • LinkedIn icon grid

Icons intended for use in print or at larger sizes use the 36-unit grid, and are pixel-optimized at their final size. The icon bounds should be approximately 50% of the size of the container – e.g. 100px container = 50px bounds, 1.5” container = 0.75” bounds.

Stylistically, our icons should be:

  • Solid-filled, not stroked
  • Geometric, not illustrative
  • Simple, not overly detailed

Data visualization

LinkedIn data visualization is all about clarity and simplicity. We don't present too much information in any given graph, and are always seeking to provide valuable insights and clear storytelling. Here are some examples of LinkedIn data visualization done right.
