As of January 1, 2026, the LinkedIn Local program has been discontinued. All existing licenses are no longer in effect, and use of the LinkedIn Local brand will no longer be permitted after January 1, 2027. Unfortunately, we are unable to grant extensions to the program. Members should align any and all future use of our trademarks and brand features in accordance with our Branding Guidelines.

We appreciate the value local networking events bring to professional communities, and the passion of local event organizers who organize them. LinkedIn Local has been a great example of grassroots organization, but over time the use of the LinkedIn brand for non-LinkedIn events has been confusing for our members and customers. We are encouraging event organizers to continue their networking events but transition away from using the LinkedIn Local brand.

If you are currently operating a LinkedIn Local program we ask that by January 1, 2027 you:

  • Remove any and all use of the LinkedIn Local trademark from your webpage, social media, and physical materials before January 1, 2027.

  • LinkedIn Local domains can continue redirecting to new event-related domains until January 1, 2027. After this date, please discontinue use of any and all Linkedin Local domain names or let their registrations lapse.

  • Cease all LinkedIn Local branded events by January 1, 2027

  • Comply with our Branding Guidelines for any new site or brand.

  • LinkedIn Events allow individuals or organizations to create, promote, and host professional gatherings. These are streamed on LinkedIn, with real-time conversations in the comments and a recording on your Page or profile.

  • LinkedIn Live allows eligible members and Pages to broadcast live video content to a LinkedIn profile, LinkedIn Page, or Event. If you’d like to become a LinkedIn Live broadcaster, review the create and host LinkedIn Live: access criteria.

  • Set up a LinkedIn Group to bring professionals together around shared interests or industries. This helps you build a space for meaningful conversations, networking, and knowledge sharing; whether you're growing a community or leading a focused discussion.

  • You may use the LinkedIn trademark in standard characters with no stylization accompanied with the ® symbol to describe the services that you offer: LinkedIn® e.g. “Meet your New York based LinkedIn® connections.”

  • Include a disclaimer: LinkedIn is the registered trademark of LinkedIn Corporation or its affiliates. The use of the LinkedIn trademark in connection with this event does not signify any affiliation with or endorsement by LinkedIn Corporation or its affiliates.

Don'ts

  • Don’t use the LinkedIn® trademark, Linkedin Logo, or [in] Logo in your social media account name, handle, or in social media posts other than in a descriptive manner to describe your events.
  • Don't make statements online and in your materials claiming that your event(s) are supported, affiliated, or endorsed by LinkedIn or its employees.
  • Don’t feature photos with the LinkedIn® trademark, Linkedin Logo, or [in] Logo to falsely imply a sponsorship, affiliation, or endorsement with LinkedIn.
  • Don’t register or use a domain name that includes Linkedin in any part of the domain name.
